![]() ![]() pro-xi® Technology: In-Field UpgradesSoftware Updates The pro-xi system contains multiple microprocessor systems, all running in concert to provide the ultimate in Operator efficiency and flexibility. As new software features and enhancements are added (and defects found and corrected), Portalis provides regular updates to all our customers through our Customer Support Portal. These software updates are installed in a similar fashion to other software updates everyone is familiar with — by downloading and then installing the update. Hardware Upgrades Via FPGA The pro-xi hardware is powered by state-of-the-art Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices, which have the ability to be updated in the field. What this means is that in addition to traditional software updates and defect corrections, new hardware features can be added, and hardware issues corrected. These hardware updates are done by our customers — in their own facility and on their own timetable — and without having to unrack and ship their system back to the factory. These hardware/firmware updates are also available through the Customer Support Portal, and it is a simple matter to update the hardware — it operates just like any other software update. Software & Hardware Maintenance Software and hardware maintenance is available to all customers during their warranty period. After that, customers can purchase Maintenance Agreements to keep their pro-xi system updated with the very latest and greatest features and capabilities. |
